Terms of Service

Last updated: May 8, 2026

These Terms explain the rules for using Dicta, including account access, voice and text processing, subscriptions, acceptable use, and support.

1. Who We Are

Dicta is operated by Masterpiece Technologies Inc. These Terms govern your access to and use of Dicta, dictafun.com, and related services that help convert voice and text into drafts, notes, messages, and other writing outputs.

Questions about these Terms or the service can be sent to hello@dictafun.com.

2. Using Dicta

You may use Dicta only if you can form a binding agreement and comply with these Terms and applicable laws. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.

You agree not to misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt to bypass access controls, reverse engineer non-public parts of the service, or use Dicta to create or distribute unlawful, harmful, infringing, or deceptive content.

3. Voice, Text, and Output

You retain your rights in the audio, text, prompts, files, and other content you submit to Dicta. You grant us the limited rights needed to process that content, provide the service, troubleshoot issues, secure the service, and improve user experience where permitted by your settings and applicable law.

AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for a particular use. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and deciding whether to use any output, especially for legal, medical, financial, employment, academic, or other important matters.

4. Consent and Recording Laws

Dicta may let you record or transcribe speech. You are responsible for obtaining any consent required before recording, uploading, or transcribing a conversation and for complying with recording, privacy, workplace, and communications laws that apply to you.

Do not use Dicta to record people where doing so would be unlawful or would violate their rights.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Paid plans, if offered, are billed through our payment processor. Prices, plan limits, features, renewal periods, taxes, and cancellation options will be shown at checkout or in your account.

Unless otherwise stated at checkout, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. Canceling stops future renewal charges. Refund requests for transactions processed by Paddle must be submitted to Paddle within 14 days of the transaction date, unless a different statutory period is required by applicable law.

6. Service Changes

We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain, secure, or improve Dicta. We may also set limits on usage, storage, or availability where needed for reliability or abuse prevention.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users. Continued use of Dicta after an update means you accept the updated Terms.

7. Third-Party Services

Dicta may rely on third-party providers to operate, protect, and improve the service. Your use of those integrated services may also be subject to their terms and policies.

We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control, but we choose providers with the intent to operate Dicta securely and reliably.

8. Disclaimers

Dicta is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We do not guarantee that transcriptions, rewrites, summaries, translations, or other outputs will be accurate or appropriate for your intended use.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Masterpiece Technologies Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities.

Our aggregate liability for claims relating to Dicta will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the service in the three months before the claim or 100 Canadian dollars.
